The China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) and the Ministry of Finance will jointly issue the measures for the reduction and exemption of non-performing loans of small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in agriculture-related businesses. Since Feb., the Office of Land Supervision conducts an investigation to ensure land supply to projects. Those projects are approved by the central goverment in order to expand domestic demand. 4. Follow-up medical treatment compensation plan for Sanlu milk scandal unveiled
Feb. 24, the Beijing Municipal Labor & Social Security Bureau announces a joint notice issued by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Health and the China Insurance Regulatory Commission, regarding medical treatment payment for infants in the Sanlu tainted milk powder scandal. The notice says Sanlu Group will set up a medical compensation fund for infant victims in the tainted milk powder scandal. The fund will be entrusted to China Life Insurance for management. The notice says, after the acute disease medical treatment, if those infants develop related diseases before they are 18 years old, they can also get full reimbursement for their medical expenses from the fund.   [Sina, 2009.02.26]

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has approved the CNPC to build a refinery in Jieyang city, Guangdong province. In May 2008, CNPC and Venezuela signed an agreement for joint exploration of the Orinoco Heavy Oil Belt. The Department of Spoken and Written Language Management under the Ministry of Education earlier said many Chinese satellite TV station logos had violated the Law of the People's Republic of China on Standard Spoken and Written Chinese Language and should revise their logos.
