AmCham China in ActionWondrous Night in WuhanOn January 9, 2010, the AmCham-China, Central China Chapter hosted at charity event at the Jin Jiang International Hotel. It was the first charity event hosted by a foreign business community in Wuhan, attracting more than 200 guests from over 100 domestic and international organizations, and raised in excess of RMB 75,000.
AmCham-China believes strongly in the value of corporate social responsibility. Michael Barbalas, AmCham-China president, said, “This event helps demonstrate AmCham-China’s commitment in giving back to society. By hosting this charity event, we hope to improve education and contribute to the Wuhan community where our members live and work.” Janie Corum, AmCham-China, Central China Chapter’s executive committee chair noted: "The grand splendor and size of the event is unparalleled in Wuhan and we were very proud to host it.
