AmCham-China recently hosted a presentation titled “New Opportunities in Eco-Cities: The Tianjin Eco-City Story.” Currently under construction, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City will be a modern town of businesses and residential properties where 350,000 people will live, work and play in a carefully developed urban landscape. In this AmCham-China Webinar, you can listen and view the presentations given by all the speakers present at the actual event. The presentation has been cut into four sections:

• Part 1 - Mr. Lim Meng Hui, general manager of Economic Promotion for the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment & Development Co., Ltd (SSTEC), explains the background history of the project and the roles of the developers, presenting a brief outline of the master plan.
• Part 2 - Ms. Peng Cheng Yao, senior manager of Eco-technology for SSTEC, elaborates on the sustainable planning vision and the guiding performance indicators of the project while illustrating some practical engineering solutions regarding transportation, construction, water, waste management, and more.
• Part 3 - Mr. Lim Meng Hui describes the development of the start-up area and plans for the residential and commercial districts, including investments with some of the world’s biggest developers.
• Part 4 - Mr. Wang Hao Yu, the section chief of the Commerce Bureau for the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Administrative Committee, provides some background on environmental initiatives from the government’s perspective as well as investment incentives for international companies.
