The AmCham Life and Disability Plans
The Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) plans offer worldwide protection and will pay designated beneficiaries a lump sum benefit for loss of life due to sickness, accidents, or even suicide. The life benefit equals three times annual salary up to US $250,000. The AD&D benefit povides extra protection by paying a lump sum benefit equal to three times annual salary up to US $250,000, for death and dismemberment from accident. For both Life and AD&D plans, $250,000 is the free cover limit; over US $250,000 may require some medical evidence at the time of enrollment.
The Long-term Disability (LTD) benefit is equal to US $60,000 with medical evidence required by the underwriter at the time of enrollment. In the event that the insured person becomes totally disabled as a result of illness, bodily injury or debility for which medical evidence must be provided, an income benefit of 60% will become payable after a 13-week waiting period until either recovery, death, or attainment of retirement age.
