The members of AmCham-China have donated over US$900,000 to local charitable organizations through past AmCham-China Charity Balls.

Proceeds from this year’s Charity Ball will be donated to the China Family Planning Association. This is the second of a three year partnership between AmCham-China, UNESCO and the China Family Planning Association. The partnership seeks to improve the quality of life for rural ethnic minority groups located in China's Guizhou and Yunnan provinces. The China Family Planning Association’s three-fold program will focus on improving and developing the capacity of comprehensive health services, improving education on and awareness of basic preventive health care, and developing and enhancing current rural health programs. The rural minority groups, which include the Naxi, Miao, and Dong people, were selected in consultation with local partners and based on the socio-economic condition of these groups.
