Job Description
Job Description
The Strategic Business Development position reports to the VP, Boeing Research & Technology China (BR&TC) and is responsible for extending Boeing innovations and technology opportunities in China. This position also works closely with the Director of Technology Business Strategy for BR&TC to develop breakthrough business opportunities for technology developed in-country. In addition, this position supports the formulation and recommendation of specific business objectives, and implementation of business development plans in China that will have considerable impact on the Company's strategic position and financial performance. This position has direct government engagement and works within project teams made up of country executives, strategic development fellows, functional experts (tax, export control, IP management and government relationship) and business unit representatives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Manage the "Sustainable Aviation Biofuels Commercialization" activity working closely with BCA Biofuels Team and in-country partners.
• Research customers, competitor initiatives and technical advancements, regulatory and other market information using industry sources.
• Respond to ad-hoc assignments requested from country executives; evaluate customer needs, business strategies and constraints.
• Quantify and communicate the attributes of BR&TC technology capabilities to meet customer needs and enhance customer acceptance.
• Lead project teams to innovative and successful completion of business case opportunities, sometimes through internal investment, partnering and joint ventures. Prior experience in aviation industries, engagement with Chinese government and/or joint-venture activities with Chinese entities is desired.
