Many people know that Steve Jobs changed the way the world perceives personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing and digital publishing. This presentation will focus on his contributions as a corporate strategist. Jobs founded Apple, Pixar and NeXT Computer, launched many innovative products and created distinctive online and physical retail experiences. What can we learn from both his successes and his failures?  Did Jobs&#8217; own strategic approach change over his career?  Should other business leaders seek to emulate his drive for vertical integration and tight control over the full customer experience? &#60;br /&#62;
&#60;br /&#62;
The speaker will be Peter Zemsky, deputy dean of INSEAD degree programmes and curriculum. He teaches the core competitive strategy course in INSEAD&#039;s MBA and EMBA programmes and is also the Eli Lilly chaired professor of strategy and innovation. His areas of research include the sustainability of competitive advantage, time-based competition, the choice of generalist versus focused strategies, and the determinants of resource rents. Peter received his Ph.D. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1995 and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.
&#60;/span&#62;&#60;/p&#62;

Many people know that Steve Jobs changed the way the world perceives personal computers, animated movies, music, phones, tablet computing and digital publishing. This presentation will focus on his contributions as a corporate strategist. Jobs founded Apple, Pixar and NeXT Computer, launched many innovative products and created distinctive online and physical retail experiences. What can we learn from both his successes and his failures?  Did Jobs&#8217; own strategic approach change over his career?  Should other business leaders seek to emulate his drive for vertical integration and tight control over the full customer experience? &#60;br /&#62;

The speaker will be Peter Zemsky, deputy dean of INSEAD degree programmes and curriculum. He teaches the core competitive strategy course in INSEAD&#039;s MBA and EMBA programmes and is also the Eli Lilly chaired professor of strategy and innovation. His areas of research include the sustainability of competitive advantage, time-based competition, the choice of generalist versus focused strategies, and the determinants of resource rents. Peter received his Ph.D. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1995 and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.

AmCham-China invites you to a lunch presentation with Howard Chao and Andrew Hutton as they discuss their recent White Paper report on the internationalization of the RMB. The paper details the Chinese government&#039;s comprehensive step-by-step program to internationalize the RMB, encouraging its use in international trade and finance even while the RMB remains unconvertible for capital account transactions. &#60;br /&#62;

Chao and Hutton conclude that these steps are leading to eventual open convertibility and that the RMB will become one of the key currencies used in international finance, while Hong Kong already has been established as the world&#8217;s primary offshore RMB financial center.
