Since its founding, AmCham-China has consistently dedicated itself to the policies of strengthening trade relations between China and the US. While not part of either government, the chamber provides policy recommendations to both governments. AmCham-China’s 2010 White Paper on the State of American Business in China is the chamber’s most significant policy document of the year, and incorporates more than 100 recommendations into 32 chapters focusing on specific industries and regions throughout China.

Annually, the White Paper along with its insights and recommendations result from the hard work and dedication of AmCham-China members working through their forums and committees. The 2010 White Paper, released on April 26, 2010, reflects US companies’ positive overall outlook on the Chinese economy. It also highlights growing concern on market access in the future and China’s transition to a market economy. This marks the first year AmCham-China tracked year-on-year progress for the top recommendation in each industry chapter (see Priority Recommendations Table, page 9).
