Human Resources Forum

The American Chamber of Commerce's Human Resources Forum is a very active work group. There are approximately 300 AmCham members who participate in HR Forum activities.
 
Forum activities are open to all AmCham members. While most participants work in HR, we encourage participation from all company staff. This means all levels and all functions. Anyone who feels that they either have something to gain or something to offer is welcome.
 
HR professionals (and anyone else interested in HR) need to have a mechanism for keeping up to date with the latest developments in worldwide HR thinking. Actively participating in AmCham's HR Forum is one of the best opportunities in China to keep current.

The mission of the HR forum is to:

• Provide networking and information sharing opportunities for HR professionals
• Provide opportunities to learn about the latest developments and best practices in HR so that HR professionals can add value to their employers a
• Formulating opinions and recommendations on HR issues in China and facilitating communication with the Chinese government agencies on these issues

Activities in which we will engage:
In order to provide value to AmCham HR forum members, we will engage in the following major activities:
• Monthly Seminars: Organizing the monthly knowledge sharing and networking events
• Annual Conference: Organizing a yearly annual conference of HR professionals in the Beijing area
• Contribute to the AmCham White Paper
• Provide quarterly, invitation-only roundtable meetings with senior managers from major AmCham member companies
• Distribute monthly HR Thought Leadership articles to HR forum members, through email and/or the website.
• Providing advice or opinions on other matters where appropriate: such as the selection of survey vendors for AmCham, commenting to the media on HR issues in China, etc… 
 
Areas we can add more value to members in the future:
• Create a stronger sense of HR community
• Provide opportunities to discuss sensitive HR issues with Sr. Managers
• Reach out to corporate HR members
• Provide more information to forum members, through “thought leadership” articles, etc…
• Having more variety of venues for forum events (breakfast, timing change, etc…)
• Provide more specific, actionable advice through the White Paper
• Increase cooperation with other AmCham forums
• Increase cooperation with other chambers (Euro-Cham, Brit-Cham, etc…)
