Delegation of 25 Joins China-Northeast Asia Expo

An AmCham China delegation led by AmCham China Vice Chairman Lester Ross took part in the 10th China-Northeast Asia Expo in Changchun, giving speeches and meeting with officials.

During the expo, which lasted from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2, AmCham China co-hosted the China Jilin-America Industrial Cooperation & Project Matchmaking Conference with the People’s Government of Jilin Province, Economic and Technological Cooperation Department of Jilin Province and the People’s government of Siping City.

Chen Weigen, Vice Chairman of Jilin Provincial People’s Congress, delivered the opening remarks for the conference, and emphasized how important the economic relationship with America is for Jilin. Chen said he looks forward to further cooperation with American companies in the auto, healthcare, agriculture and food processing, equipment manufacturing and modern service industries.

Besides Ross, the Consul General of Shenyang Consulate General of US Scott Weinhold and China Director of CRH John Watkins also made speeches during the event.

The AmCham China delegation, including Director of Government Affairs Helen Ye (pictured), also attended key activities of China-Northeast Asia Expo such as the Summit Forum on Northeast Asia Cooperation and several industrial forums. The AmCham China delegation numbered 25 and represented member companies in the construction, auto, food and beverage, consulting, financial services and IT industries.
