Gloria Xu

General Manager for Government Affairs, Greater China

Dow Chemical

Running for: Governor

2017 will without a doubt be a challenging year, if not more challenging, for U.S. companies doing business in China because of the enormous political and economic uncertainties. Members demand strong Board leadership with passion, local know-how and executional inspiration to help them navigate through the bumpy time ahead.  I believe my insight of the political and economic situations of China, my experience working with both the U.S. and Chinese governments on policies and regulations, and my knowledge of the purposes of U.S. companies will contribute to the relevance and effectiveness of the Board in 2017.

I have been an active member of AmCham China for 15 years, co-chairing the Financial Services Forum from 2011 to 2014 and the China Government Affairs Committees since 2010, having written and edited five White Papers, leading events including the successful annual Government Affairs Conference, speaking to members on policy issues and advocating a transparent and level business environment.  I appreciate the opportunity to serve you on the Board of Governors, and support your businesses.
