Michael Anderson joins the AmCham China Northeast Executive Committee as the new Chairman.

Anderson is a Finance Controller for Intel Semiconductor Ltd. located in Dalian, China.  In his role, he is responsible for all financial aspects related to construction, capital and Technology Development.  He arrived in China August of 2018.

Michael has been with Intel for 19 years, all in the US prior to his recent assignment.  Throughout his career, he has held various positions ranging from M&A, pricing strategy, IT, P&L, revenue and inventory management and most recently the Corporate Controller responsible for earnings releases, board of director presentations and corporate operating model strategy.                 

Michael has both a Bachelors and MBA from the University of California at Davis.

Outside of work, Michael loves spending time with his wife and two kids, travelling and exercising.

 

Ladon Ghalili joins the Executive Committee as an EC member.

Ghalili is Co-founder and Director of Epoch International, a high-tech design and manufacturing services company established in 1993, with design and prototyping capabilities in California and high-volume manufacturing spectrum of design services in Dalian China.

Ladon has lived in Dalian since 1989.   She represents the international community on local TV and has received awards and recognition for her work from various government and private institutions in China

Before coming to China, Ladon worked in IT with NGOs, and multinationals such as GE, EDS, and Bechtel. 

In addition to running Epoch, she is an active member of the Dalian community. She is deeply involved with the Jin Pu Xin Qu Women’s Federations, Women and Children Center and Dalian League of Volunteers.   This experience has given her passion of bridging communities and cultures a forum to learn.  She established and coordinates a yearly ‘Welcome Wagon” event that supports International families in their new home, Dalian.

Her educational background is in Computer Science and she has a wide range of experience in the field of IT in both hardware and software, in China, Israel, and the United States.

Ladon is married, with three children, all of whom were raised in Dalian.  Ladon believed firmly in local education.  Each of her three children completed their primary and middle education in local schools before switching to International schools to prepare them for University in the US.

 

Rochelle Mathias joins the Executive Committee as an EC member.

Mathias is Vice President of Business Development Asia for flooring company TORLYS and the Founder and CEO of Mother’s English, a volunteer organization dedicated to helping Chinese primary students gain greater fluency in conversational English. Mother’s English is headquartered in Dalian, China and works through public and private partnerships works to support local primary school Chinese English teachers and raise student performance in English language fluency. She relocated with her family to Dalian in 2014 and established Mother’s English as a way to connect with her new Dalian community and experience a deeper relationship with the Chinese community.

Rochelle is also Deputy Assistant Governor of Rotary China International group and helps local Rotary chapters in Northeast China develop their service programs. Before coming to China she launched several e-commerce businesses, including one of the first online office product businesses which she later sold to the luxury goods conglomerate now known as Kering.

Outside of work, Rochelle loves exploring S.E. Asia with her husband and two sons. She enjoys a good glass of wine with friends and meeting new ones at the many networking events around Dalian.
