Campaign Statement

My name is Su Cheng Harris-Simpson and I am running for governor on the AmCham Board of Governors and I humbly ask for your vote.

Living and working in China for over 20 years, I have continued to be an active member and participate in leadership roles on AmCham throughout this entire period.

From 2002-2004, I was elected on the American Board as Vice-Chair, during which time I worked for United Technologies Corporation (UTC) as Senior Corporate Projects Manager. During my term as Vice-Chair on the AmCham Board of Governors, I assisted to spearhead the creation of the Annual Charity Ball and Appreciation Dinner. These programs have become and continue to be important traditions for AmCham China Community today. In addition, on behalf of UTC I was an integral founding member of the Aviation Cooperation Program that also continues to be a best practice of a successful public private cooperation program today.

In 2005, I founded and is currently the CEO of SCHSAsia, a Strategic Marketing company with focus on Projects and Event management which continues to have a successful presence in China and Asia today. This year SCHSAsia partnered with AmCham in creating the "Women’s Economy Summit" with over 200 attendees, including entrepreneurs, professional women, global organizations and community leaders.

I co-founded the Women’s Professional Committee in 2008 and continue to hold long term positions as a Co-Chair.  In addition, I also have been a long-term member of the of the SME/Entrepreneur Committee, and have been a Co-Chair for the last three years.

Through my passion and expertise, I am committed to working with and supporting AmCham to continue to grow in China. With a focus on innovation and building diversity within the AmCham programs, I believe that I can drive an increase in memberships (inclusive of SME's and Entrepreneurs, as well as corporate). I will proactively contribute to bringing the AmCham community together through deriving opportunities for productive and engaging communication as well as dynamic events and services to benefit all members. I will use my experience and talent in the areas of creative marketing, fundraising, promotion and sales, to enhance the AmCham Agenda.

I thank you for your kind consideration and support.

Your vote is much appreciated,

Su Cheng Harris-Simpson
