We are excited to announce that the application period for the 2025 AmCham China Leadership Development Program (LDP) is now open!

The AmCham China Leadership Development Program (LDP) was launched in 2017 to build an ever-expanding group of leaders capable of carrying the AmCham China community forward. Our mission is to nurture future leaders by encouraging them to engage with members of the AmCham China community and the US-China relationship. The eight-month program selects qualified China-based applicants of all nationalities working in different companies, industries, and with varying experience levels. The program is designed to train professionals to become future leaders of the US-China business community and enhance the leadership skills of program participants.

About the Program

The AmCham China Leadership Development Program is a highly selective, 8-month program developed by the American Chamber of Commerce in China that aims to prepare the future generation of leaders who will help the US-China relationship flourish. Each year, the Board of Governors at AmCham China intends to select 30 to 35 of the best-suited candidates to participate in the program.

Candidates for the AmCham China Leadership Development Program will be afforded comprehensive exposure to the US-China business community. On a monthly basis, there will be a single three-hour session delving into a diverse array of topics, such as multicultural leadership, government relations within China, innovation-driven leadership, and the commercial operations of the US Embassy, among others. Those candidates who successfully complete the program will be presented with an “AmCham China Leadership Development Program” certificate of completion during AmCham China’s Annual General Meeting slated for November 2025.

Who is eligible to apply?

  • AmCham China member or employee of a member company
  • Aspiring leader aged between 26 and 40
  • Lived in China for a minimum of two years
  • Have an interest in furthering your knowledge about US-China relations and community leadership
  • Participants are required to attend all program sessions, with a maximum of two excused absences allowed. Attendance can be in person or online. To qualify for graduation, participants must attend at least six of the eight sessions.

Note: The program is open to non-members or employees of non-member companies. However, the number of non-member candidates can not exceed 40% of the 2025 LDP cohort.

The program mandates attendance at one three-hour session monthly, commencing in late March and concluding in October. Networking prospects are integrated via social dinners and engaging activities.
