On August 22, AmCham China, Tianjin hosted the Second Youth Navigator Program, bringing together over 80 members and their children for a day of exploration, learning, and inspiration at Tianjin University and the International School of Tianjin (IST). The program aims to foster innovative thinking, broaden horizons, and encourage teenagers to stay abreast of cutting-edge technologies.
The morning session was held at Tianjin University, starting with a tour of Xuanhuai Square to explore the proud history of China’s first modern university. The visit to the School of Chemical Engineering featured demonstrations and opportunities for students to conduct their own experiments.
The group then explored the Tianjin University Intelligent Connected Vehicle Science Education Base, where participants explored the university’s latest innovations in robotics and smart mobility, serving as an introduction to the world of artificial intelligence and intelligent transportation.
In the afternoon, the group visited the International School of Tianjin (IST), where Principal Steve Moody warmly welcomed the AmCham group. Technology Director Hao Zhai shared insights on the cutting-edge application of AR and XR technologies in education, while students joined AI lab courses featuring interactive lessons that highlighted the creative application of technology in learning. A guided campus tour further introduced attendees to IST’s educational philosophy and holistic approach to student development.
AmCham China Tianjin thanks Tianjin University and the International School of Tianjin for their strong support. More than just a one-day visit, the Youth Navigator Program encouraged students to explore new ideas, sparked curiosity, and offered a broader perspective on future academic and career paths.
