On December 12, AmCham China’s HR Committee and Visa Sub-Committee hosted a policy briefing at the Chamber’s Beijing office, bringing together government officials and industry professionals to discuss China’s entry-exit policies and the Beijing permanent residence application process for foreign talent.
Becky Xia, Co-Chair of the Visa Sub-Committee, opened the session with welcoming remarks, thanking the speakers and highlighting the importance of staying informed on the latest visa policy developments. Officials from the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau provided an overview of the “Two Zones” initiative, followed by a policy briefing from officers of the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau’s Exit-Entry Administration on recent entry-exit policy updates. A specialist from the “Two Zones” Office then introduced the permanent residence points-based assessment system.
The briefing concluded with a presentation by Becky Xia, who is also Managing Partner at Fragomen, on Accelerating Business Growth: How to Move Talent into China Faster and with Confidence, offering practical insights for companies managing cross-border talent mobility. The event wrapped up with a Q&A session.
