From January 16-17, the AmCham China Central China Chapter successfully hosted the Member Roundtable Dialogue and Appreciation Luncheon with the Hubei provincial government. Over the two-day event, an AmCham delegation, led by AmCham China President Michael Hart and including representatives from the Central China Chapter Executive Committee, the Healthcare Committee, and numerous member companies, engaged in high-level discussions with Hubei Vice Governor Chen Ping and key provincial government departments, facilitated by the Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce.
On January 16, the delegation met with Vice Governor Chen Ping and leaders from relevant provincial and municipal departments to explore avenues for deepening practical cooperation.
President Michael Hart commended Hubei’s strong business environment and dynamic economic growth, emphasizing AmCham China’s confidence in future collaboration. He expressed a commitment to expanding cooperation in healthcare, cultural exchanges, and other key areas.
That same afternoon, Wang Xi, Director of AmCham China’s Healthcare Committee, led a delegation of member companies in a meeting with the Hubei Healthcare Security Administration.
During the session, Deputy Director Chen Yu and officials from the Pricing and Bidding Departments addressed key concerns raised by AmCham China members. Chen Yu highlighted the importance of trust as the foundation for cooperation and welcomed continuous feedback from foreign healthcare enterprises operating in Hubei.
Wang Xi acknowledged that this was the third consecutive year AmCham China’s Healthcare Committee had engaged in discussions with Hubei authorities, underscoring a strong and consistent dialogue. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining an ongoing communication and collaboration mechanism.
On January 17, supported by the Hubei Provincial Department of Commerce, the AmCham delegation held a roundtable discussion with officials from multiple government agencies, including the Hubei Health Commission, the Department of Economy and Information Technology, and the Department of Human Resources and Social Security.
Discussions centered on economic development, healthcare, digitalization, and human resources, with a shared goal of enhancing cooperation and fostering win-win outcomes for both government and businesses.
To further promote positive engagement between government officials and business leaders, AmCham China Central China hosted a special appreciation luncheon on January 17.
Attendees included AmCham China members, provincial and municipal government representatives, and U.S. Consul General in Wuhan, Robert Forden. The luncheon provided a relaxed setting for in-depth discussions on business opportunities, policy updates, and future collaboration prospects.
This successful event strengthened communication channels between AmCham China member companies and the Hubei provincial government, paving the way for new business opportunities and partnerships.
