Last week, AmCham China President Michael Hart joined AmCham Shanghai’s delegation for their annual DC Doorknock in the US capital. The visit provided an important opportunity to share perspectives from US companies operating in China directly with US policymakers, agencies, and thought leaders at a critical moment for the bilateral commercial relationship.
Hart participated in a range of high-level discussions across Capitol Hill, the administration, and leading think tanks. These included meetings with the US Department of State, the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR), and the Vice President’s Office at the White House, with additional engagements including CSIS and Brookings, among others.
On Capitol Hill, the delegation met with Senator Steve Daines, Representatives Rick Larsen and Darin LaHood, Representative Young Kim, and more.

A visit to the State Department to meet with senior China and trade officials.

Meeting with Terry McCartin, Assistant USTR for the Office of China, Mongolia, and Taiwan Affairs.

Meeting with senior representatives from the Vice President’s Office, the National Security Council, and the National Economic Council.

Meeting with Scott Kennedy at CSIS.

Meeting with Representatives Darin LaHood (R-lL) and Rick Larsen (D-WA), co-chairs of the US-China Working Group.
