On November 24, the AmCham China’s Auto Committee visited Beijing E-Town’s High-Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone (BJHAD). Over the past 13 years, Beijing E-Town has been a hub for innovative products and technologies, focusing on critical strategic needs and achieving breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies and industries.
The visit aimed to showcase the “China plan” for the integration of vehicle, road, and cloud in the high-level autonomous driving demonstration zone. The focal point of this trip was the newly inaugurated Beijing High Level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone Innovation Operation Center, which began trial operations in November 2021.
The center serves four core functions:
- Operation Management Center: Facilitating data aggregation and scheduling command functions for various connected cloud control scenarios in high-level autonomous driving demonstration areas.
- Showcasing Hub: Exhibiting new technologies, products, and phased construction achievements related to vehicle-road-cloud integration.
- National Management Platform: Undertaking functions as the national management platform and completing the entry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s intelligent connected vehicle innovation data management platform.
- Exchange Center: Creating an exchange center for the intelligent connected vehicle industry, establishing a dialogue platform for the development path of the international intelligent connected vehicle industry.
Additionally, AmCham China’s Auto Committee members had the opportunity to explore BJHAD and experience the Auto Bus technology. Kaysie Li from PwC also joined the event to share PwC’s latest report on customer needs and recommended actions for e-mobility players, providing valuable insights into the dynamic landscape of the automotive industry.
