Job Title: Program Manager (ACP)

Reports to: Executive Director of US-China Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP)

Job Overview

Responsible for CAAC government affairs, event planning and coordination, drafting publications, and communicating with both U.S. and Chinese government aviation officials and aviation companies on behalf of the US-China Aviation Cooperation Program. This position requires strong communication, organizational, and writing skills.  Communication is conducted in both English and Chinese. Some translation work will be required. The applicant should have a bachelor’s degree in either business, foreign affairs, or a related field.

ACP is a Public-Private Partnership under AmCham China.  The ACP Executive Director reports to ACP’s Industry Co-chair, the President of Boeing China, and the President of AmCham China.  The FAA Beijing Senior Foreign Affairs Officer serves as the US government Co-chair. ACP complies with all AmCham China governance policies and practices. All ACP staff are employees of AmCham China. Funding and assistance for ACP operations are provided by ACP’s membership and through program sponsorship activities.  ACP has been in operation for over two decades.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts research and prepares articles, news, and notices of interest to ACP’s membership. Closely monitors, analyzes, and reports on aviation industry regulations, news, and trade policy issues that may impact US aviation trade. Frequently communicates with ACP members and committee industry co-chairs, US and Chinese government organizations, and pertinent trade associations (55%).
  • Supports the planning and delivery of ACP activities, including trainings, technical assistance, studies, and events (Symposia, Webinars, and Workshops). ACP closely works with both the Chinese and US governments in the planning of these activities and maintains close working relationships with the CAAC, FAA, TSA, the US Embassy/Consulates, and international civil aviation organizations. The Program Manager also manages contracts and related budgets. (35%)
  • Internal records, database management, and other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director. (10 %)
  • Some travel in China and in the US is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and above in aviation-related fields.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in aviation-related companies, industry associations, governmental institutions, or international organizations.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin and have a strong writing ability in both languages.
  • Event planning and coordination skills.
  • A foreign affairs or related degree and background.
  • Solid IT skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
