As part of AmCham China’s advocacy efforts, the Chamber recently delivered the 2025 American Business in China White Paper (White Paper) to key Chinese government agencies. This month, President Michael Hart has led delegations to the Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs, engaging in in-depth discussions on critical topics such as US-China trade relations, market access, bilateral tariffs, and the operating environment for foreign-invested enterprises.
White Paper Delivery Meeting at the Ministry of Commerce
On July 14, AmCham China President Michael Hart led a delegation of member company representatives to meet with China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister Li Chenggang of the Ministry of Commerce and presented the 2025 White Paper. During the meeting, the two sides held-discussions on a range of issues, including US-China economic and trade relations, export control on rare earths, market access, and the opportunities and challenges faced by foreign-invested enterprises operating in China.

On July 11, AmCham China President Michael Hart led a delegation of member company representatives to meet with Vice Minister Wang Lingjun of the General Administration of Customs and presented the 2025 White Paper.During the meeting, both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including Smart Customs, the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) system, US-China bilateral tariffs, and the opportunities and challenges faced by foreign-invested enterprises operating in China.
