On February 25, AmCham China’s Southwest Chapter hosted a breakfast briefing at the Fairmont Hotel Chengdu to launch the 2025 China Business Climate Survey (BCS) Report. The event brought together members, government officials, and business professionals for an insightful discussion on the latest findings.
Southwest Chapter Chair Jeffrey Bernstein moderated the event, expressing appreciation for the ongoing support of local government officials while and thanking members for their contributions to both the BCS Report and the American Business in China White Paper (White Paper).
This year’s BCS Report reflects responses from over 350 companies across more than 20 industries, covering key topics such as financial performance, business outlook, the business environment, and perspectives on US-China relations. AmCham China Senior Director of Marketing and Commuications Mark Dreyer provided an in-depth briefing on the survey results, emphasizing that despite ongoing challenges, China remains a critical market for the American business community.
WilmerHale Partner and AmCham China Board of Governors member Kenneth Zhou also delivered a speech on foreign investment in China. He provided a comprehensive overview of recent policy developments, including pilot programs lifting foreign investment restrictions in value-added telecom services and healthcare, new regulations on fair competition, and updates on cross-border data transfer rules.
