Dialogue with Sichuan Provincial Government Departments
On November 11, Chamber President Michael Hart led a delegation of senior executives from member companies to meet with the Sichuan Provincial Government. The Vice Governor of Sichuan Province, Ren Jingdong, met with the delegation. Hart expressed the Chamber’s appreciation for the provincial government’s long-standing support for AmCham China member companies and noted that the Chamber will continue encouraging American companies to expand investment in Sichuan.
Following the meeting, together with the CCPIT Sichuan Council, AmCham China co-hosted a government-enterprise dialogue for foreign-invested enterprises operating in the province. Representatives from relevant departments, including the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Culture and Tourism, Health Commission, Sports Bureau, Medical Insurance Bureau, Energy Bureau, and the province’s special task force responded to concerns raised by members. The meetings aimed to provide members with a deeper understanding of opportunities in Sichuan and the broader western China market.
That evening, the AmCham China Southwest Chapter 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held at The Ritz-Carlton, Chengdu. Chamber leadership, Sichuan government officials, and members gathered to review the year’s achievements and discuss the year ahead. The event was hosted by Southwest Chapter Chair Jeffrey Bernstein. Hart delivered welcome remarks, expressing gratitude for the support from the local government since the Chapter’s establishment two years ago, the commitment of the Executive Committee, and the member companies.
Bernstein reviewed the Chapter’s 2025 achievements and outlined priorities for the coming year. He summarized key activities across AmCham’s ABCs (Advocacy, Business, and Community), and expressed hopes for continued member collaboration and growth for the Chapter.
Wen Wei, Head of Talent Solutions and New Business Growth Operations at LinkedIn China, delivered the keynote speech titled “Empowering Talent, Going Global.” The presentation explored how LinkedIn supports China’s transition from a manufacturing hub to a global corporate citizen, trends in globalization, evolving international talent needs, and how AI and Gen Z are reshaping the future workforce.
During the awards ceremony, Hart and Bernstein presented the 2025 Partner in Excellence Award to member companies in recognition of their sponsorship throughout the year. They then presented the 2025 Community Star Award to individual members for their contributions in promoting and participating in Chamber activities. The event wrapped up with a lucky draw.
