The holiday spirit was in full swing on December 6 at the InterContinental Century City Chengdu, where nearly 300 guests from the business community gathered for an evening of celebration. The 2025 Chengdu Christmas Gala was jointly presented by the AmCham China Southwest Chapter, the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China, the Australian Chamber of Commerce West China Chapter, and Chengdu-Expat.
The evening opened with remarks from diplomatic representatives, including Zeynep Soyluoglu-Hoyt, Economic Officer at the US Embassy in Beijing; Meaghan Shaw, Australian Consul-General in Chengdu; and Tim Standbrook, British Deputy Consul-General in Chongqing. Leadership from the four host organizations: Jeffrey Bernstein, Chair of the AmCham China Southwest Chapter; Matt Ryan, Vice Chair of the British Chamber of Commerce Southwest China; Andy Liu, Chair of the Australian Chamber of Commerce West China; and Dieter Vanonckelen, Founder of Chengdu-Expat, followed with warm holiday greetings. The program culminated in a joint toast on stage by chamber leaders and diplomatic guests.
Following the presentations, guests enjoyed a festive dinner featuring a curated selection of cuisine paired with premium wines and beers, accompanied by a lively performance from a live band. The setting offered an ideal opportunity for reconnecting with longtime partners and building new connections within the community.
