The event opened with welcome remarks from Olive Liu, Chair of AmCham China Northeast Chapter, who thanked guests, Executive Committee members, and sponsors for their continued support. She also extended a special welcome to Consul General Coleman of the US Consulate General in Shenyang and shared the Chapter’s vision for strengthening connections across the Northeast business community.
James Zimmerman, Chair of AmCham China, then delivered keynote remarks, offering insights on business cooperation and development opportunities in Northeast China. He also spoke about his published works and upcoming books, several of which explore the history of Dalian and neighboring cities, resonating strongly with the audience.
Consul General Coleman reflected on the importance of business and cultural exchanges in Northeast China and expressed his appreciation for the partnerships developed throughout his tenure in Shenyang. As he prepares to conclude his assignment, Olive Liu and James Zimmerman invited him back to the stage for a special farewell presentation, recognizing his longstanding support for the Chamber and its members.
Duan Yun A, Vice Chair of AmCham China Northeast Chapter, also addressed attendees, highlighting the close ties between Dalian and Shenyang and expressing her hopes for continued collaboration and engagement among members across the region.
The evening continued with a ceremonial toast led by Consul General Coleman, James Zimmerman, and the Executive Committee, followed by a gala dinner that provided guests with an opportunity to reconnect and build new relationships in a relaxed setting.
Entertainment throughout the evening reflected the event’s Hawaiian theme. Teachers from the Canadian International School of Shenyang energized the audience with a performance of Party in the USA, while Community Star Ladon encouraged guests onto the dance floor for an interactive group dance session that quickly became one of the evening’s highlights.
The popular lucky draw brought excitement throughout the ballroom, made possible by the generous support of the event’s sponsors. Guests also participated in a Hawaii-themed trivia challenge, testing their knowledge of the islands and competing for prizes. The evening concluded with a Best Dressed contest, where guests embraced the Hawaiian theme with creativity and enthusiasm.
