AmCham China President Speaks at the 2026 World Internet Conference Asia-Pacific Summit

From April 13 to 14, the 2026 World Internet Conference Asia-Pacific Summit was held in Hong Kong. AmCham China President Michael Hart attended the opening ceremony and main forum and delivered a keynote speech at the Digital and Intelligent Health Forum. He also exchanged views with government representatives and healthcare sector guests from across the Asia-Pacific on how AI and digital technologies are reshaping the healthcare industry.

In his remarks, Hart said digital and intelligent technologies are becoming key drivers of healthcare innovation and improved health outcomes, while also creating new opportunities for US-China cooperation in the sector. He noted that AmCham China member companies are active across healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, life sciences, and digital technologies, and are exploring AI applications in prevention, diagnosis, treatment support, and service optimization. He also highlighted China’s strong application ecosystem and digital infrastructure, as well as Hong Kong’s role as a gateway between Mainland of China and the international community, as important enablers for collaboration.

He added that sustainable digital healthcare development depends on a stable policy environment, effective data governance, strong intellectual property protection, and a more open and collaborative innovation ecosystem.
