On May 12, the AmCham China Education Committee hosted an event at the Notre Dame Beijing Office, exploring a critical question: where are US–China relations headed? The event brought together AmCham members, students, and alumni from the University of Notre Dame, along with participants from other leading universities.
The event opened with welcome remarks from Jingyu Wang, Co-Chair of the AmCham China Education Committee and Executive Director of Notre Dame Beijing, University of Notre Dame.
Joshua Eisenman, Professor of Politics at the University of Notre Dame and a leading expert on US–China relations also gave remarks. In his presentation, “Between Strategic Competition and Economic Interdependence: US–China Relations in an Age of Uncertainty,” Professor Eisenman shared perspectives on the evolving dynamics of bilateral relations and examined how shifting US priorities and geopolitical tensions — from Iran to Ukraine — are reshaping the trajectory of US–China relations.
Following the presentation, Professor Eisenman joined a Q&A session with the audience. The “Ed Talk” series aims to bring together leading experts and educators to share academic research and perspectives on emerging industry trends.
