Esteemed AmCham China voting members, as President of ConocoPhillips China, I seek your vote for election as Governor to AmCham China’s 2016 Board of Governors.
AmCham China provides its members with an important and effective platform to achieve success in China’s challenging business environment. If elected, I would be honored to contribute to AmCham member interests by leveraging my experiences and previous leadership positions with other AmCham and industry interest groups throughout the Asia Pacific region, including most recently:
- Governor, AmCham Malaysia Board of Governors, 2012‐2015
- Board member of the International Gas Association, Malaysia 2014‐2015
- Vice Chairman of the US‐ASEAN Business Council in Malaysia 2012‐2015
Over the last four decades ConocoPhillips China has become one of the largest foreign investors in China. With our partner here in China we are preparing expansion plans which will double that investment. We are also poised to become one of the largest providers of liquefied natural gas to the Chinese economy. If supported with your vote, I can assure you that the experiences gained from these activities will contribute to the AmCham China members’ business successes.
With your vote, I look forward to enhancing ConocoPhillips’ activities within AmCham China, where we have been co‐chair of the Oil, Gas, and Power forum for several years.
I will also seek to expand opportunities for practical US‐China Government and private sector engagement and collaboration, to the benefit of all members.
I believe there is an increased potential for AmCham China to help all members succeed as the economic, commercial, and political complexities deepen in China. I elected, I would be honored to work toward this objective.
