Vice President for Public Affairs of Mars China

Campaign Statement

As Vice President for Public Affairs of Mars China, I joined Mars in 2018 and lead Mars’ efforts to build and grow strategic partnerships with key public stakeholders at both central and local levels, conduct policy advocacy in key categories Mars operates in, formulate public affairs strategies, and protect and promote Mars’ corporate reputation. Prior to joining Mars, I worked with Fonterra and McKinsey, building and leading their external affairs function in Greater China.

I hold a Master of Philosophy from Cambridge University and a BA from Foreign Affairs College in China. I was nominated a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum in 2006.

I would like to run for the Board of Governors of AmCham China. Standing at this historical moment of China’s development and US-China relations, I have a vision that we, at the Chamber, will create history, and lead the transformation by enforcing the role of business community and fostering communications.

I’ve always admired our predecessors, a group of pioneering businesspeople who met at Beijing's Jianguo Hotel in 1981 and established the chamber. Ever since then, AmCham has played a central role in improving the business environment in China, supporting the development of Chinese society, providing a focal point for the foreign business community and farthing US-China relations.

I believe, for the new leaders of the Chamber, the challenges, uncertainties as well as opportunities we are facing, are unprecedented— all this requires us to become the courageous architects for the future. United by AmCham, we are letting our voices heard through communication and effective outreach. With joined hands, we are making the difference— we are the ones who drive change through influence, who lead our time with courage and confidence.

I commit to contribute to AmCham China in the following areas:

  • Leverage my background to contribution on GR, food and consumers; add to Chamber’s outreach and communication
  • Support key events and major activities of AmCham
  • Be a key member in the Technology and Innovation Initiative
