On June 10, 2019, AmCham China Chairman Timothy Stratford led a delegation of 13 AmCham China members and staff to a meeting with the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC) Vice President, Long Guoqiang. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current US-China relationship, China’s business environment, and Chinese and American policies.

Stratford kicked off the meeting by conveying several key messages from both the 2019 American Business in China White Paper and sharing AmCham China’s key takeaways from its recent outreach trip to Washington, DC. Stratford expressed the American business community’s concerns over long-standing issues such as industrial policies and the opaqueness of regulations, which both limit companies' future outlook on the Chinese market.
