Speaking on CCTV’s Xinwen Lianbo, AmCham China President Michael Hart expresses cautious optimism about China’s economic outlook for the rest of 2023.
Michael Hart, president of the Beijing-based American Chamber of Commerce in China (AmCham China), said in a written response to VOA Mandarin on Monday that U.S. businesses are worried about being the next target of China’s security review.
Although rising tensions between Washington and Beijing continue to be a top concern, American companies in China are increasingly optimistic about their outlook on China, especially in economic recovery and growth of the domestic market, a recent business climate report showed.
The deterioration of bilateral relations is increasingly raising concerns among Americanbusinesses operating in China, even as their overall outlook on the Chinese economy isimproving, according to the latest survey results from the American Chamber of
Commerce (AmCham) in China.
The latest AmCham report echoes concerns held by others in China’s foreign businesscommunity about geopolitical tensions.
