About This Committee
The Legal Affairs Committee involves top-tier global law firms and the in-house counsels of member companies across industries.
Mission
- To improve the policy environment in ways that benefit both the industry and members.
- To share and discuss cross-sector business and policy issues to get smarter about the industry.
- To strengthen closer communication and cooperation for broader exchanges around legal and regulatory development between the US and China.
Main Activities
Competition Law Chapter, Compliance Chapter, IPR Chapter, and Legal Services Chapter (drafted by Forum members) in the annual AmCham China American Business in China White Paper (White Paper).
White Paper Delivery Meeting with central government agencies – MOJ (司法部), CNIPA (国家知识产权局).
Call-for-Comments help members deliver their messages, suggestions, and feedback to central government on new policies and regulations.
Closed-door briefings invite legal/industry experts and officials to explain new policies and discuss topical issues with members.
Member Delegation Visits to provincial governments for direct exchange of ideas on specific issues.
